Description
The Telops unique MWIR multispectral camera and LWIR multispectral camera are equipped with an 8-position fast-rotating filter wheel, which allows the scene signal to be split into different spectral bands rather than one broadband image, thus enabling spectral signature analysis. The filter wheel mechanism is designed to maximize the cameras’ frame rate and can be used in either fixed or rotating mode. Rotating speed is adjustable up to 100 Hz per filter, thus allowing a frame rate up to 800 fps in synchronised mode.

Volcanic carbon dioxide (CO2) emission rates play an important role for assessing volcanic hazards and for understanding the role of magma degassing in the biogeochemical cycle of carbon. Here you can see the multispectral IR imaging of volcanic passive degassing at Sulphur Banks, in Hawaii. A variety of spectral bandpass filters were used, including CO2 filters. Data was acquired at relatively high spatial resolution, leading to the successful identification and quantification of emitted carbon dioxide.

Combustion Analysis
Go through the 4 stages of combustion of a dual-fuel engine — the intake, the compression, the working stroke and the exhaust — and observe them through 5 different infrared spectral bands. Courtesy of Istituto Motoro (CNR), Italy.
